Internal Rules

Cricklade Camera Club league rules

These rules apply to all internal competitions. Any deviation will be shown in the rules specific to an individual competition.

Although we encourage members to show progressive and challenging work in any genre, we request that photographers refrain from exhibiting work that is likely to cause offence.

In all cases the copyright of the images must be the property of the entrant.

All elements of an image, the copyright of the images must be the property of the entrant, including textures and composite images, must have been photographed by the photographer. No part of an image may contain a computer-generated image (CGI) element.

We fully support workshops as important part of developing photographers, but for competition purposes where parties other than the photographer have made a significant creative contribution (i.e. two or more of the following elements) to the image through these aspects: staging, lighting, or settings (camera controls) we ask the photographer to consider whether their own contribution is sufficient to claim the image as their own work. If a ‘workshop’ image is combined into a more complex image, however, such as through layering in Photoshop, this can be considered the photographer’s own work. Accordingly, we will also ensure that judging confirmations sent out to all judges contains the following statement:

  • We are aware of the SCPF guidelines on entering images to competitions taken in tightly controlled and guided conditions, such as workshops.  As a result we have amended our rules to reflect this and have chosen to appeal to the photographers’ conscience. You should, therefore, assume that the photographer will have had a substantial role in the creation of each image that you will see.

Trade printing is permitted.

There are two categories: print and PDI, both can be entered into.

A photographer may submit up to three images (per round) in each category (print and PDI) in any round of the competition. The highest scoring two images will count towards the photographer’s score in that category for that round.

Images must not have been entered into either internal (Cricklade CC) previous print or PDI competitions.

Images entered (print or PDI) can have been taken at any time.
